This role will provide supervision and support for the Accounts Payable team. If you would like to be on a team of Great People delivering great service, we may have just the opportunity for you.The job involves:

• Acting as a liaison between management and the accounts payable team
• Communicating and coordinating with internal clients and external vendors
• Reviewing open receivers, special reports and trial balance of the sub-ledger
• Investigating and resolving any issues or problems
• Auditing expense reports and corporate credit card charges
• Preparing monthly task schedules, assigning vendors, monitoring workloads and implementing metrics for analysis of productivity, providing information for internal and external audits
• Reviewing cheque packages and invoices for compliance with non-resident withholding taxes
• Updating and maintaining standard operating procedures and forms while investigating opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
• Identifying commodity tax issues pertaining to HST
• Ensuring payment terms are met and discounts are maximized
• Working safely, and in compliance with OH&S policies and legislation
• Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation

The ideal candidate has:

• Post secondary education in Business or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years experience in accounts payable preferred
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to focus on results
• Excellent communication, organizational, multitasking and time management skills
• Solid team and resource management skills
• Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel, Word, Workday, Birchstreet and Kronos)
