OverviewOur EMEA Shared Service Centre based in the UK has around 230 people across 3 different functions – Finance, Credit & Collections and Supply Chain. We support over 20 countries and speak around 40 different languages. The SSC is just one of 5 different SCJ businesses based at the Frimley site.About the roleReporting to the SSC Manager, Finance, this role will be responsible for leading the Accounting Team in providing high quality financial service to a group of company codes, through accurate and timely financial statements, analysis capability, solid financial controls and successful year end audit as well as identifying and developing a talented and empowered accounting team of analysts.Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely month end and year-end financial reporting
  • Provide explanation of finance accounts, as required by the local or regional Finance members
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journals for completeness and accuracy
  • Responsible for the application of policies and internal controls
  • Responsible for Sarbanes Oxley compliance for the SSC processes
  • Responsible for the annual external audit and any internal audit
  • Lead and develop the Accounting team
  • Provide clear direction and empowerment to the team, so they can perform at the expected standards
  • Recruit, train and develop the team members
  • Help to build an environment to stimulate creative thinking and innovation towards continuous improvement and Foster a ‘great place to work’ environment
  • Drive and sustain cross country process improvement and commonality, within the SSC and the local countries
  • Support the management team in implementing the SSC Strategic Vision
  • Lead the weekly Team Huddles

Experience you’ll bring

  • Qualified/Finalist for a recognized finance/accounting qualification i.e. CIMA, ACCA, ACA. Graduate calibre, ideally with a degree in finance or accounting.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Finance is a must (both Balance Sheet and P&L)
  • Previous experience of managing and coaching a team, ideally having worked in a multi cultural team/environment
  • Experience supporting senior management
  • Ability to work across Countries/Regions and confidently work with Senior Stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge Excel & PowerPoint, with good experience of SAP, BPC, BW a plus
