Our client is an independant and community-orientated festival based in London.They are seeking an experienced Head of Production to lead festival production across 2 flagship events.This is a Full time role based in– Shoreditch, London & on-site during festival periodsStart – April 2025We are hiring a Head of Production to lead festival production across 2 annual festival events.This senior role oversees all aspects of production, including budgeting, supplier and stakeholder management, technical execution, and creative stage design. You’ll manage a full-time Production Coordinator and work closely with festival directors to deliver world-class events.Requirements: 5+ years of festival production experience, strong leadership skills, budget management, and a passion for creative production.Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of festival production experience on-site with demonstrable track record of success in a Head of Production role (or equivalent). Senior Production Managers looking to make the step-up may be considered.
- A passion for creative production – this role goes beyond technical delivery to encompass stage design, artistic vision, and immersive production elements.
- Strong leadership, relationship-building and account management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- A high level of commitment, resilience, and adaptability to succeed in a fast-paced festival environment.
- Comfortable owning and tracking large budgets with meticulous attention to detail.
- Desirable: Knowledge of the event application process and paperwork required by council officers and the SAG in the run up to the event.
- Desirable: Experience producing and amending site plans with AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee production delivery across multiple events.
- Manage and control budgets, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high production standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders, including council liaison with support of operations consultant.
- Oversee all technical and creative production elements, including stage builds, sound, AV, and creative production design. Procurement and advancing of all required technical production.
- Ensure smooth on-site operations, providing hands-on problem-solving and leadership during live event delivery.
- Line manage full-time Production Coordinator.
- Procure operational consultants and oversee staffing of other external roles.
- Manage deadlines for submission of all necessary paperwork, licensing, and regulatory submissions, with support from the Production Coordinator.
- Own and meticulously track the production budget, maintaining forensic oversight across all line items, with monthly updates to the Finance Director.
- Oversee the full build and de-rig schedule, as well as the broader production timeline.
- Liaise with key partners (food trader agency, bar operator, and partnerships team) to deliver relevant production requirements.
- Oversee the freelance Production Manager, who leads on-site production procurement and manages site crew.
- Support the account management for any externally promoted shows.
