Job introductionAbout the roleWould you enjoy working in a team to support who are responsible for dealing with requests for new users’ access? Working closely with other teams in the creation of groups or roles with defined access privileges, and then controlling access by defining group membership. In addition to granting rights, Access Management revoke rights when a user’s status changes through transfer, resignation, or termination. Access Management also periodically undertake reviews of roles or groups used to control access to ensure that only necessary rights are being granted and that there are no rights conflicts among the roles or groups within the Amend Account process.The role will require you to help manage the main Access Management ITSM queue within our ticketing system, consulting with colleagues within the department and communicating with our customers. Access Management also ensures that the individuals in an organization can use the systems that help them do their day-to-day job, but only have as much access granted to them as they really need.This role is part of Customer and Partnerships within the Orbis IT & Digital Service. This Service provides mission critical operational support, innovative project delivery and dynamic strategic leadership that underpins delivery of the business priorities and service outcomes for the Orbis partner authorities and customers. The customers and stakeholders for this role include staff across East Sussex. This role is a vital component of the Council’s cyber security and overall management of systems and information integrity.We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Ability to plan and organise a varied workload for self and others, working to short deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people in a clear, concise and accurate manner, changing messages to suit different audiences.
  • Ability to provide effective customer service which will include providing clear and succinct advice, responding appropriately to customers’ needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and be able to develop professional relationships across teams and services to achieve shared aims.
  • Ability to use technology as part of the role including Active Director (AD), Good IT Skills, including MS Office and database management systems.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and clearly present data, some of which may be complex, in line with Data Protection regulations.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan workload whilst resolving conflicting priorities.
  • Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to build sound relationships with customers and explain technical issues to non-technical people
