This position is based on Oregon’s south coast and focuses on the coordination of south coast Oregon Coast STEM Hub (OCSH) operations and activities. This is a one-year appointment with the potential for extension, contingent on funding availability and the discretion of OCSH and Oregon Sea Grant leadership.
This position will be a member of the Oregon Sea Grant (OSG) – Oregon Coast STEM Hub (OCSH) Team, housed at Oregon State University’s Port Orford Field Station. The OCSH is a regional cross-sector collaborative that works to improve and guide transdisciplinary science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in Oregon coastal communities. This Coordinator will work closely with OCSH leadership, existing Program Coordinator, community partners, and educators. This position will design, develop, maintain and/or carry out educational programming and outreach activities to serve broad and diverse populations, including those that have been historically marginalized/excluded from participation, in an accessible, inclusive, equitable, and socially just manner. This includes complying with Civil Rights and Language/Visual Access regulations.
Collaborative work across disciplines, organizations, and programs areas is expected. Active and effective communication with colleagues, partners and key audiences is critical to the success of this position; wireless access may be necessary.
