The Environment, Health and Safety Specialist III Develops, executes and continually improves environmental, health and safety programs to manage risk and comply with regulations. Lead environmental, health and safety activities including training, inspections, audits, sampling, and reporting. Communicate with employees, contractors, leadership, and external agencies to convey status and drive improvements.
EHS Specialist III will:
- Research and interpret regulations/requirements and evaluate site processes for compliance
- Develop, improve, and implement processes as needed to meet regulatory requirements and improve safety/environmental performance
- Facilitate regular touch-points with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure concerns are addressed, processes are followed, and requirements are met
- Inspect and audit manufacturing areas, offices, and warehouses
- Facilitate or perform sampling activities as required to ensure safety and prevent pollution
- Establish and maintain accurate EHS records. Perform routine and non-routine data evaluation for EHS reports and metrics
- Develop and administer EHS-specific training for employees
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports
- Evaluate new materials and processes for EHS risks and recommend/develop controls
- Respond to incidents and coordinate emergency response and reporting
- Conduct accident investigations and root cause analysis for EHS incidents
- Schedule and oversee EHS contractors while they perform work projects
- Develop and track safety and sustainability key performance indicators and lead/evaluate improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Knowledge of environment, health and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA)
- experience with safety and environmental management systems (ISO 14001, 45001).
- 5+ years’ experience with state and federal environmental reporting
- Advanced knowledge of environmental science principles (air pollution, stormwater pollution, hazardous Waste management, wastewater management)
- Advanced knowledge of industrial health and safety principles (ergonomics, machine guarding, fall protection, PPE)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make decisions which will impact human health and the environment
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Strong leadership and project management skills
Bachelor’s degree in a safety or environmental-related field from an accredited 4-year university (or equivalent education/experience).
Preferred Experience:
- 9+ years of experience in EHS in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with sustainability/environmental governance programs
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing/composite manufacturing
- Experience developing training programs and materials
Additional Eligibility Qualifications Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
Preferred but not required: RCRA/DOT Hazardous waste certification, ISO 14001/45001 auditor training, Certified Forklift, Aerial Lift, Crane Operator instructor, HAZWOPPER certification, Certified Respirator Instructor.

Pay
SEKISUI Aerospace is required by Washington law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Washington resident. Pay ranges may be higher or lower for non-resident WA employees, based on the market data for their region, allowing us to pay employees competitively in different geographic markets.
