General Responsibilities:
Would you like working outdoors on some of the biggest and best construction projects in Wisconsin? If the answer is yes, then we would like to talk with you. We have a position for a field technician that will learn everything from pile load testing to soil testing and being an assistant on Geotechnical drill rigs. We have an opportunity that provides an exciting challenge to the right candidate.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in pile load testing and other types of field testing relating soil conditions and strength. You’ll be fully trained by an experienced lead technician and manager in order for you to become a lead.
- Occasionally, work will be performed in a team setting with one other lead technician.
- Other responsibilities will include laboratory testing, other field testing, and supervision of hired subcontractors.
- Communicate with project manager, other engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site and project requirements.
- Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
- Prepare and submit reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field
