position Summary

  • As Quality Assurance Inspector your primary mission is to perform all QI roles with eye for detail, you demonstrate excellent work ethic, and you hold yourself and others accountable for the quality of work performed.
  • You help create a work atmosphere of positivity and inclusion, and support the team with professional, constructive feedback and coaching/training where needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Must be capable of all QA 1 activities, supporting multiple lines and training new hires on inspection procedures.
  • Execute in-process quality inspections to production sub-assemblies, components or completed assemblies for compliance to customer requirements using measuring equipment.
  • Perform regular audits on shelf-life control tooling calibration, operator training and compliance to work instructions as necessary.
  • Takes ownership for the level of performance of quality activities within their areas, reviews internal quality indicators and supports the implementation of improvement actions.
  • Takes responsibility in maintaining a respectful and inclusive work atmosphere within the team and proactively builds professional relationships within the team and other departments.
  • Report any quality escapes and provide support for escapes and any new support improvements.
  • Complete sample inspections of received inventory with varying forms of measurement instruments including but not limited to multimeters, oscilloscopes, micrometers, and hardness testers.
  • Completes inspections for the support of various investigations including design of experiments (DOEs), statistical process controls (SPCs) and gauge R&Rs as necessary.
  • Support incoming logistics operations by providing timely support quality assurance incoming inspections as needed.
  • Support production resources by providing oversight in acceptance criteria and Application of standard repairs.
  • Perform product containment activities including quarantining inventory and screening inspections for nonconformance identification.
  • Comply with all safety rules and share fundamental safety and quality rules with the team.

Qualified experience / Skills / Training:

education:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience:

  • Must have 1 or more years’ experience in Quality Assurance and have knowledge of a QMS.
  • Exposure to AS9100:2016 Quality System Requirements is a plus.
  • Have all the QAI 1skills and be fully trained and competent writing JIRAS, performing final inspections and internal process audits.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of basic computer, word processing and spreadsheet software functionality. Ability to create simple documents, including spreadsheets for data collection. Demonstrated ability to work within SAP or other ERP system to modify or retrieve data. Be fully trained and competent in SCADA processes.
  • Knowledge of ESD control and potential product risks associated with incorrect exposure for products. Knowledge of basic electrical concepts such as volts, current and resistance. Knowledge of clean room control and potential product risks associated with incorrect exposure for products.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Understand basic functionality of each individual component assembled in their area.
  • Understand basic failure mechanisms in the assembly process and apply that knowledge in your inspections with an eye for detail.
  • Apply knowledge to all inspection/audit activities.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos as well as able to write simple correspondence.
  • Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume. Ability to complete mathematical conversions from metric to English and vice versa, as well as conversions from fractions to decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents and reports. Daily.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment. Daily.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
