WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM MANAGER

The Watershed Project (TWP) is seeking a full-time Workforce Development Program Manager to lead our Green Collar Corps internship program and support our Greening Urban Watersheds apprenticeship and high school internship programs.

The Green Collar Corps (GCC) provides paid job training, career exploration, and part-time employment opportunities for youth and young adults ages 17–24 in Richmond, San Pablo, and Oakland. This position serves as the primary supervisor and mentor for GCC participants while helping build pathways into environmental careers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Recruit, onboard, mentor, and supervise youth and young adult interns
• Coordinate training, professional development, and career exploration opportunities
• Organize participant schedules, workshops, and program activities
• Track participant progress, program outcomes, budgets, and grant reporting requirements
• Lead and support field-based activities including restoration projects, volunteer events, cleanups, and environmental monitoring
• Support Greening Urban Watersheds apprentices and high school internship programs
• Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, nonprofits, community organizations, and workforce development programs
• Coordinate communications, outreach, and alumni engagement activities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

experience mentoring, supporting, or working with youth and young adults
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
• Experience working with diverse communities and communities of color
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Flexibility, dependability, and strong interpersonal skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with workforce development, environmental education, community engagement, or ecological restoration
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Experience with recruitment, hiring, and program administration
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, Zoom, Canva, and related software

POSITION DETAILS

• Full-time, Salary Non-Exempt
• $65,000–$68,000 annual salary
• Tuesday–Saturday schedule
• Based in Richmond, CA, with field work throughout the Bay Area
