Overview
As a Wetland Delineation Lead and Ecologist with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our St. Charles, Missouri office, you’ll be part of a team to help clients navigate today’s complex environmental regulatory landscape to achieve and maintain compliance with the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and related regulations. Your primary responsibility will be to lead wetland and stream delineations throughout the Midwest. You will also assist with threatened & endangered species habitat assessment and surveys, fish and benthic macroinvertebrate sampling, and preparation of reports and permit applications. This position is heavily field-based and requires out-of-town travel.
Qualifications
- 3-8 years of experience leading wetland and stream delineations and other ecological field studies (wildlife, fisheries, forestry, botany)
- Demonstrated ability to mentor staff
- Solid understanding of scientific process and ability to work in team setting
- Ability to travel for out-of-town assignments (~50%)
- Physical capability to lift 25-50 pounds and perform field work across a range of site and weather conditions
Additional qualifications that are a plus
- Completion of a 40-hour wetland delineation training course
- Familiarity with Section 401 and 404 Clean Water Act regulations and permitting
- Familiarity with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation
- Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS)
