Serving approximately 650 students annually, the faculty integrates research, teaching, and clinical practice to prepare future pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists for leadership in healthcare and drug development.
Description
The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications from outstanding scholars for a full-time, tenure-track academic appointment. Appointments may be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
We are seeking doctoral-prepared candidates who bring strength in research, teaching, and academic citizenship. The Faculty is particularly interested in individuals whose research programs align with one or more of the following areas: pharmacy practice, pharmacotherapy, health services, health systems, policy, or population-level inquiry. Candidates whose work addresses real-world challenges in medication use, health systems, and evidence-informed practice are especially encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic and collaborative academic environment, advancing impactful research and engaging with partners across academic, clinical, health system, and policy settings.

Responsibilities
Academic Faculty members are scholars active in teaching, research, and service. Depending on rank and career stage, the successful candidate will be expected to develop or sustain a program of research, teach in undergraduate and graduate programs, supervise trainees, and contribute to academic and professional service.
Teaching and Mentorship
The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, support curriculum development and educational innovation, and supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Research and Scholarly Activity
The successful candidate will seek external peer-reviewed funding to establish or maintain a program of research aligned with pharmacy practice, pharmacotherapy, health services, health systems, policy, or population health. This includes conducting research using appropriate methodological approaches, disseminating findings through peer-reviewed and other knowledge translation channels, and engaging in collaborative research with academic, clinical, and community partners.
Service and Academic Citizenship
The successful candidate will participate in service to the Faculty, University, and broader academic and professional communities, including contributing to governance, committees, and initiatives aligned with the Faculty’s mission and strategic priorities.
Qualifications
Areas of Expertise
The Faculty has a strong interest in candidates whose scholarship addresses real-world health service challenges (e.g., medication use, pharmacist’s roles, guideline uptake) and advances evidence-informed practice and policy. Areas of particular interest include:
• Health outcomes and health services research
• Pharmacoepidemiology
• Implementation science
• Health policy and regulatory science
• Artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in medication use
• Guideline implementation
• Pharmacy workforce
Qualifications
• PhD in Pharmacy or a relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated excellence, or clear potential for excellence, in teaching and scholarly activity.
• Evidence of, or potential for, developing a sustainable research program aligned with the Faculty’s priorities.
• Post-doctoral training or equivalent advanced research experience is preferred.

• A statement describing your teaching philosophy, including how you support learner engagement, inclusivity, and diverse learning needs across undergraduate and/or graduate education.
• Evidence of Teaching Effectiveness. Examples may include teaching training, teaching assistantships, courses taught, guest lecturing, supervision experience, recent course evaluations (if available).
