The Division of Natural Areas is excited to be hiring a Stewardship Ecologist for the East Tennessee region. The Stewardship Ecologist is the “hands-on” manager overseeing land management and ecological restoration activities at natural areas from the eastern edge of the Cumberland Plateau to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Most work will be field based, with the ability for some in-office and remote office work as needed. This position will require travel around the region, with occasional long days and overnight travels.
Preferred candidates will have experience in conservation biology, land management, ecological restoration, prescribed fire, native species conservation, or nature preserve/natural area management; and a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Forestry, Biology, Botany, Wildlife & Fisheries Science, Ecology, Environmental Science, Zoology, or related field.
