Under the oversite of a government certified Range Controller, assists in a variety of routine assignments supporting the Range Operations Branch. This position assists with the coordination and oversight of safe and efficient utilization of Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) research and development testing and training range facilities for activities involving unconventional or hazardous weapons, ammunition, Electronic Warfare (EW), and other hazardous materials across multiple test and training sites covering 838,000 acres. Assists with coordination and oversite of activities conducted by other government agencies, law enforcement, emergency operations, environmental groups, utility services, maintenance, and civilian hunters on YPG designated property. Other duties include assisting with the analyzing, coordinating, and displaying test program danger zones, flight boxes, and exclusion zones for the testing and training of personnel, manned and unmanned aircraft, firing systems, developmental and experimental ammunition, electronic warfare, and combat vehicle equipment. Assists with continuous oversite and control of movements, activity conflict resolution, and emergency service coordination during active range use. Consistently delivers exceptional customer service to all range users via telephone and radio communication. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. |

| Qualifications | |||||||||||
Pay Rate:$33.23 education/Licenses/Certifications/experience Requirements: *Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent *Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working on ranges, requesting and cancelling clearances. Job Skills Requirements: *Must have working knowledge of range operations principles, practices, and requirements gained through practical experience in the field. *Must have the ability to accurately assess the overall range situation and develop a mental picture of downrange activities and their relative position for effective coordination. *Must have knowledge of land and airspace being utilized to interface ground and air traffic in hazardous testing and complex training exercises. *Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced command and control environment. *Must have intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook). Physical Requirements: *Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests. *Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned. *Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit. *Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for the embedded organization. Job Requirements: *Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions. *Must possess a valid driver’s license, without special restrictions. *Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication. *Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English. *Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude. *Must be willing to cross-train in other areas. *Must use “down-time” effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company. *Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable. *Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability. *Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions. *Must have a demonstrated ability to follow instructions and company policy. *Must be able to deliver quality products to the customer and be responsive to their needs. *Must be safety and security conscious, complying with rules and policies. *Must be able to work both as part of a team and independently. Additional Desirable Qualifications: *Test Range experience with knowledge of range safety principles, practices, procedures, and standards. Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements: *Must be a U.S. Citizen. *Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment. *Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
