Co- Op Environmental Engineer – Fall 2026 and Spring 2027
Responsibilities include:
The co-op will work with the Environmental Engineering group.
Maintain compliance related electronic data. Includes data input and data quality assurance responsibilities.
Streamline and upgrade environmental compliance data management practices, as well as assist with the creation of new compliance documentation tools in response to regulatory actions.
Document control responsibilities for both electronic and traditional compliance document files.
Assistance with compilation of periodic compliance reports to regulatory agencies.
Special projects for streamlining production data management tools utilized for technical and environmental company records.
Utilize data from various mill data collection systems and software, as well as manual operations records for compliance and comparative trending purposes.
Assistance with environmental engineering & special projects, such as landfill construction, wastewater treatment system construction, and residuals management.
Assistance with environmental laboratory analytical tasks and sample collection.

Must have completed a co-op term at PCA and be currently enrolled at a four year university, preferably Mississippi State University, The University of Mississippi, Auburn University, University of Alabama, University of Maine, University of North Carolina State, Texas A&M University, University of Miami Ohio, Tennessee Technology University, or any University of TN and majoring in Electrical Engineering or a related field and have completed the freshman year. A minimum grade point average of 3.0/4.0 is required and must be a permanent U.S. resident.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Starting salary for position: $25-30 per hour.
- Paid Holidays.
- Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages — medical, dental, and vision – and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
- Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
