The position will have the opportunity for flexible work during the planning and analysis of data collected.

Job Duties
Natural resource management organizations in collaboration with Mississippi Park Connection (MPC) has planted 1,000 of trees to restore floodplain forests across the Twin Cities urban forest ecosystems. The overarching goal of this position is the develop a method for sampling, collect data during the growing season on survival and growth of these planted tree species, analyze data, and write up reports.
May only be used for short term appointments in three instances: to allow visitors who lack faculty credentials to participate in specialized research or additional training; or for completion of terms of appointment for research assistants upon completion of the degree; or for individuals hired as research assistants pending completion of Graduate School admission. Visitors may hold this appointment no longer than three (3) years. Others may hold the appointment for no longer than one (1) year. This title does not provide a career track and carries limited benefits.
* (60%) Plan, design, conduct, and/or assist with research.
* (30%) Analyze data and write reports
* (10%) Share results of data at meetings
Required Qualifications
* BA/BS degree required.
* Advanced degree may be preferred or required.
* experience with specific research techniques or areas of knowledge within a field may be preferred or required.
* Knowledge and expertise in identifying floodplain forest plant species
* Experience working safely in urban floodplain forests
* Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a varied mix of internal and external partners from diverse communities and cultures using tact, diplomacy, initiative, and sound judgement.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience sampling forestry data
* Experience writing reports
Pay Range: $58,198.00; depending on education/qualifications/experience
