Overview

NV5 is seeking a passionate Junior Engineer for our California Water/Wastewater Practice, which focuses on the planning and design of water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects, contributing to the betterment of communities and the environment.

Responsibilities

    Work within a team of highly experienced and creative engineers to problem solve, analyze, and evaluate projects from planning through construction.
  • Assist with the planning and design of challenging drinking water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure, including:
  • Assist project engineers with other project tasks, such as:
  • Coordinate with other disciplines for project development, including geotechnical engineering, land surveying, electrical engineering, and structural engineering.
  • Occasional field visits and inspections to assess infrastructure deficiencies, project progress, and problem solve issues.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis or concentration in water/wastewater
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic understanding or familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Understanding of hydraulics and pipe networks
  • Passionate about water/wastewater
  • Participation in professional societies (e.g. American Society of Civil Engineers, Water for People, Engineers Without Borders, etc.)

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Possession of Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
  • Desire to obtain a Professional Engineer license

The pay range for this California position is $28.85 – $35.00 per hour;. Base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
