Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is$65,900.00 to$109,800.00.

Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills.

Position Details

The Analyst, Storage Engineering partners with multiple business functions to gather inputs, criteria, and desired outcomes to deliver analytics and recommendations used during DC construction, expansion of existing sites, and improvements to existing buildings. You will work collaboratively with Network Strategy, DC and Branch Operations, and Inventory Management to ensure analytics from all teams guide decisions that support the design and build of the Grainger distribution network. You will report to the Manager, Storage Engineering Design & Optimization.

This position requirs up to 75% travel.

This is a hybrid position that is onsite 3 days a week in Lake Forest when not travelling.

You Will

  • Provideanalytical support to the Supply Chain and Operations organizations for maximizing storage and throughput capacity within our Distribution Centers, Bulk Warehouses, and Branches.
    • The analysis includes visual and dataobservations.
    • The analysis involves stakeholder input to ensure information is capturedappropriately.
    • Identify and resolve constraints within physical and systematicprocesses.
    • Timely delivery of analysis based on pre-determinedtimeframes.
  • Demonstrateanalytical and decision-making capabilities proactively and consistently – analyst needs to seek out information to validate assumptions.
  • Supportplanning, project, and operational activities through the following activities:
    • Assemble and analyze data for the current and future state to support growth andexpansion
    • Communicating and partnering with multiple levels of leaders both within the Operations and Supply Chain functions.
    • Provide benchmarking and best practice learnings from otherprojects.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement on ways to optimize storage and throughput.
    • Provide data and recommendations used by leadership who present to cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Prepare data for leadership review to communicate to business partners at all levels as appropriate
  • Provide analytical support for planning, project management, and operational activities.
  • Providerecommendations to Distribution Centers, Bulk Warehouses, and Branches with steps to improve product flows and storage space utilization.
  • Assembleand analyzes data to develop the “story”.
  • Accurately identifies problems and provides recommendations for solution.
  • Recommendideas that leverage existing processes to improve speed and scale.
  • Workwell independently, within a team, cross-functionally, and with outside vendors.
  • Provide central support for Distribution Centers, Bulk Warehouses, and Branches during new building, expansion, and racking reconfiguration efforts.

You Have

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years related Analytics experience
  • Project management skills to manage resources, purchase supplies, and execute tasks within budget
  • Ability to find creative solutions on small to medium size complex projects
  • Partner with leaders on developing recommendations based on analytical results
  • Proficiency in Snowflake, PowerBI, SQL, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience in developing and leading training sessions for tactical and strategic topics
  • Up to 75% travel within Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Other international travel as necessary
