Department 04625 provides Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) operational support. The ES&H coordinators in this department support staff and management in Division 1000, Division 6000 and the Executive Support Division. Department personnel support and facilitate implementation of ES&H requirements and processes and assist in the identification and analysis of hazards and risks which may create an unsafe worksite. Department personnel collaborate with ES&H and subject matter experts to formulate engineering and administrative controls to mitigate hazards. In addition, the department supports assurance activities through self-assessments, causal analyses, and metrics.

You will report directly to the ES&H Integration Manager in department 04625 and will be embedded in Center 1600, the Pulsed Power Sciences Center. Center 1600 operates multiple large-scale, high-hazard industrial facilities supporting pulsed power research and experimentation, including systems such as Z Machine, Thor, Mykonos, STAR, and DICE. These facilities support research in High Energy Density Physics, Fusion Technologies, and Advanced Radiography, relying on intricate and complex equipment and systems that integrate high-voltage, pressure, laser, radiological, and many other high-hazard conditions. The scope and technical rigor of these operations require a seasoned ES&H professional with experience in high-hazard industrial environments to provide consistent on-the-ground oversight, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain the high standards of safety performance essential for mission success.
