The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Lethbridge invites applications for a full-time, continuing Chemistry Instructor. This appointment will be at the rank of Instructor III. The expected start date of the appointment is July 1, 2026, subject to budgetary approval. Hiring salary will be in the range of $64,745 to $75,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum qualifications include Bachelor and Doctoral degrees in chemistry. Duties will include teaching introductory and senior courses in the Chemistry program (delivery of and/or coordination of classroom and laboratory course components).

The successful candidate will bring complementary experience and expertise that will support existing teaching capacity and assist the diversification of our curriculum. We are seeking a candidate with the capability to engage and inspire students in their academic work, and who will show initiative in contributing to the department’s programs and curriculum development.

The successful candidate will join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry team which consists of 13 research-active professors and 9 instructors. In addition to a strong undergraduate program with majors in both Chemistry and Biochemistry, the department has a thriving graduate program with a total of approximately 60 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. The Department is proud to be housed in the 38,500-m2, state-of-the-art Science Commons (www.destinationproject.ca) which houses world class facilities and laboratory spaces that foster collaborations within and between disciplines.
