Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

Candidates will be responsible for labor duties related to the assembly and packaging of copper tube products. The company uses a roll-over mandrill process to manufacture copper tubing of various sizes from scrap, incorporating value-added processes such as insulation and fittings.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Extrusion Press department, handling tasks such as packing copper from the annealing furnace into different kinds of packaging.

• Sort copper tubing with a micrometer, pack and bundle tubes, and plug the ends of tubes.

• Perform various tasks in the Stores department based on order and need, including receiving, putting away materials, and handing out materials to the floor.

• Work in the Linesets area, cutting large level wind coils of copper into lengths, applying foam, and packaging into lineset kits.

• Operate in the Extrusion Press area, heating copper blocks and extruding them through a die, straightening tubes, checking for quality, and preparing tubes for further processing.

• Learn and operate several machines in the White Zone, drawing copper into different sizes and lengths, and handling tasks such as pointing tubes, cutting tubes, and using overhead cranes for transport.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and perform tasks requiring bending and squatting.

• At least 6 months of experience in heavy machine operation or a similar role.

• Experience working in a labor-intensive environment, such as roofing, construction, tree planting, landscaping, or a heavy industrial setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in production, assembly, general production, general labor, heavy lifting, machine operating, and manufacturing environments.

• Familiarity with fast-paced work environments and use of hand tools.

Work Environment

The work environment involves working in a manufacturing plant where copper is melted, poured, and formed. Large overhead cranes operate regularly, and the facility can be very hot during summer, with temperatures reaching up to 40°C. Personal air conditioners are available at most stations. The culture is hard-working, with a mix of long-term employees and new hires seeking full-time jobs. Team sizes range from 2 to 5, emphasizing teamwork and the ability to work with different personalities. The dress code requires steel-toed boots and uniforms, which are provided. The position involves a rotating shift schedule every 2 weeks, with shifts from midnight to 8 am, 4 pm to midnight, and 8 am to 4 pm.
