Job description
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes in accordance with the hotel’s menu and standards.
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff, ensuring they perform to the best of their abilities.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients when possible.
- Ensure that food is prepared and presented to the highest standards, adhering to portion control and presentation guidelines.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management, placing orders as needed to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen personnel to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Participate in regular team meetings to share feedback and ideas for improvement.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a high-quality kitchen environment.
- Formal culinary training and qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Excellent culinary skills and creativity in dish preparation and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant preferred.
- Experience in managing kitchen staff effectively.
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements is an advantage.
