Job DescriptionThe Digital Designer Sr. plays a crucial role in our Creative Services team, reporting to the Manager and Art Director.The Digital Designer Sr. drives the branding and user experience of the Fidelity brand execution and ensures brand guidelines are defined and executed accurately across all digital platforms. Working closely with various internal teams such as Marketing/Design Services, Production, Corporate Events, Digital, Content, and Advertising, as well as external vendors, the Digital Designer Sr. ensures that all marketing communications are consistent with our brand and provide an exceptional brand and user experience. By utilizing their expertise in visual storytelling and their ability to convey messages in high-quality and dynamic formats, the Digital Designer Sr. contributes to the success of our web sites, online tools and marketing campaigns and helps us engage and connect with our audience.1. Execute creative solutions in line with brand guidelines
- Create visual concepts that align with Fidelity existing and emerging business line brand identities and differentiate them from competitors.
- Support the delivery of Fidelity’s value proposition, solutions, insights, and capabilities stories through visually appealing designs.
- Collaborate with content owners, digital content and stakeholders to translate research insights into creative solutions.
- Work with external vendors and internal development teams to create components and page layouts that become the foundational templates for all fidelity web sites, marketing emails and special landing pages. Able to provide feedback to guide the branding and UX to ensure the creation of on brand creative solutions.
- Work with the content management application templates and components to create individual web pages and effective marketing communications.
- Able to create user friendly UX interface based on the Fidelity UX component standards and ensure a logical flow for complex online tools, multi-page online forms and data heavy pages (e.g. fund pages, advisor and investor account pages in My Book and My Accounts).
- Stay informed about industry trends and competitor positioning to contribute ideas and insights for new design concepts.
- Interpret and understand content provided by the team to ensure that designs effectively communicate the intended message.
- Collaborate with advertising, digital, and content teams to contribute to the design of online landing pages and advertising assets.
2. Consistently apply the Fidelity and associated lines of business branding across different mediums
- Adhere to brand guidelines to maintain consistent and effective communication of complex data across various channels (web design, emails, online tools and forms, presentations, event show flows, etc.).
- Collaborate with the marketing team to generate design solutions that align with marketing objectives and goals.
- Develop a cohesive visual identity across all materials.
- Provide clear explanations and rationale for design methods and decisions, including detailed design notes.
- Support the ongoing maintenance and development of visual assets for Fidelity, Investly, and emerging business line brands.
Measures:Conduct quarterly audits to ensure consistent use of brand elements across various design projects.
- Track the volume of new design concepts/creative solutions developed that incorporate innovative elements or address emerging trends.
- Document design guidelines and design specifications and provide rationale behind design choices that affect entire business lines.
3. Maintain and ensure quality control measures are in place
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across publishing and design departments to gather feedback and requirements for design projects.
- Ensuring brand guidelines are followed and there are no errors in the final delivery of design work from Digital Designers.
- Work closely with the Production team, particularly in addressing pre- and post-production issues and coordinating the execution of design projects.
- Ensure the implementation of AODA accessibility standards in collaboration with the production and design teams to create accessible marketing materials.
- Ensure all design work before submitting for review is at the highest quality and adherence to brand standards.
- Contribute to the improvement of Design operations by suggesting ideas and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Measures:
- Zero errors in creative work by seeking feedback from other team members, Manager, Director, and other key stakeholders in the company. Always follow standard Fidelity workflows to ensure all materials produced are proofread and signed off before going live.
- Support the achievement of AODA standards for Fidelity, Investly, and emerging business line brands by following accessibility guidelines and collaborating with the Digital Marketing and Production teams.
- Improve efficiency by leveraging AI tools and exploring automation options for repetitive tasks.
- Update and organize the digital asset library to ensure easy accessibility for the Design team.
- Complete projects within specified deadlines and budget constraints, seeking guidance from the Manager when needed.
Skills and Knowledge1. Advanced proficiency within InDesign, Adobe Creative Cloud, HTML/CSS, Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), and Adobe XD to create, but not limited to, graphs, charts, diagrams, tables, images, animated graphics, maps.2. Good understanding of content management and other automated systems used to create web sites, email marketing campaigns and landing pages.3. Advanced proficiency with HTML/CSS, Javascript with an understanding of responsive design to create landing pages.4. A keen eye for detail needed to produce high-quality work and an understanding of continuous improvement philosophies5. Ability to translate investment-related graphics and data into visually appealing designs across a range of marketing materials, templates, and documents6. Self-starter and fast learner with the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively7. Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and open to creative direction and design feedback8. Knowledge of best practices for page layout, typography, colour, navigation and information design across print and web9. Understanding of tagging and ad trafficking systems, codes, and processes10. Ability to work proficiently within workflow system platform and project tracking tools to meet deadlines in an ever-changing environment.Skills and KnowledgeMinimum requirements: 7+ yearsMinimum 7 years of demonstrated design experience within corporate and/or agency environment
- Experience in digital design and U/X design for websites, online tools and email marketing
- Experience with animation, i.e. motion and video graphics
- Experience producing advertising assets e.g. social media posts, display banners, short form video ads
- Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud and MS Office necessary
