Title: Lead Application Support SpecialistState Role Title: Information Technology Specialist IIHiring Range: up to $85,000Pay Band: 5Agency: Virginia State UniversityLocation: Virginia State UniversityAgency Website: www.vsu.eduRecruitment Type: General Public – GJob DutiesThe Lead Application Support Specialist ensures enabled superior Technology Services (TS) delivery and service availability across the VSU enterprise by mastering customer engagement, digital transformation, security, governance, and streamlining initiatives that continually administer to student success, academia, and the needs and desires of the TS lines of business.The Lead Application Support Specialist ensures the administrative computer systems and third-party systems effectively support the business objectives of Virginia State University.Minimum QualificationsREQUIRED FOR ENTRY:– Proven experience as a Database Administrator and API Developer or in similar roles.– Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, PL/SQL, or SQL Server.– Strong SQL programming skills for data manipulation and query optimization.– Experience in API design, development, and integration using tools like Swagger, Postman, etc.– Knowledge of web services, RESTful APIs, JSON, OAuth, and other relevant technologies.– Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their database services.– Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot database and API-related issues.– Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Additional ConsiderationsPREFERRED:– Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.– Certification(s) in database administration (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional).Special InstructionsYou will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
