Position Title: Senior Project Manager (Agile PM)
Status: Full Time Admin Contract (12 months with option to renew)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Project Management Office (PMO)
Campus/Location: North campus
Minimum Starting Salary: $103,276; starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience.About the Project Management Office (PMO) at Humber:The Project Management Office at Humber supports various departments in delivering strategic projects across the institution. Our PMO is responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time and align with Humber’s mission to foster excellence in polytechnic education. By implementing industry-leading project management practices, we drive impactful changes that support Humber’s community and students.About the Senior Proojet Manager (Agile PM) Role:As an Agile Project Manager in Humber’s evolving project delivery team, you’ll play a critical role in driving our Delivery Center of Excellence. You’ll work within frameworks such as the Intake Process, Team Facilitation, and Agile Project Management to foster collaboration, agility, and innovation. With a focus on achieving successful outcomes across strategic initiatives, you’ll be at the forefront of Humber’s commitment to delivering value through effective project management.Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Management: Plan, organize, and lead the delivery of strategic projects, focusing on the regular and timely delivery of value. You will work closely with cross-functional product and project teams, coordinating activities and collaborating with Product Owners and Business clients to align project and product teams. Additionally, you will support the team in identifying and removing impediments, promoting transparency, and encouraging continuous improvement through effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Application of Humber’s Ways of Working (WoW): Ability to understand and adapt to Humbers’s Ways of Working (WoW) by foster collaboration between project, product, and business teams. By applying these practices, you will also contribute to the ongoing evolution of WoW by providing insights and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Engagement and Communication: Regularly communicate project progress, achievements, and risks to senior and executive management, ensuring alignment with Humber’s broader business goals.

QualificationsAbout You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), ICP-ATF, ICP-ACC, PSM1 or another equivalent Agile certification.

Experience

  • Project Management: Minimum 5 years of experience managing mid- to high-complexity projects in a fast-paced, enterprise environment, coordinating cross-functional teams of 5-15 members.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in finance, technology, or education sectors is advantageous.
  • Agile Transformation: Hands-on experience guiding and supporting teams through Agile transformations in a corporate environment.
  • Work Management Tools: Proven ability to make work visible and report progress; experience with Azure DevOps is a significant asset.

  • Communication & Interpersonal: Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of partners across various levels of the organization.
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled in identifying project impediments and working with key stakeholders to remove barriers for efficient project delivery.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire team members, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility: Ability to switch priorities as needed and react quickly to changes.
  • Conflict Resolution: Capable of identifying and addressing conflicts constructively to prevent escalation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Skilled in building relationships with stakeholders to gain support and align with their expectations.
