As part of these exciting plans, we have a Place & environment team who will focus on providing a full range of skilled / complex maintenance and repairs works that includes delivering our unique programme of major stock refurbishment.Due to our rapidly expanding team we are now recruiting for an experienced Senior – Multi trades operative to join us on full time, permanent basis.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working as the expert and ‘go to person’ as a senior multi-trade technician. As we aim to double our impact this requires extensive maintenance, painting and repairs knowledge, skills and extensive experience in completing and leading the following scope of works highlighted in the main duties section.The post holder will have experience in mentoring and leadership within a multi-trade/ site management arena and be adaptable to service requirements.The Role – What is it?
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, in accordance with our code of conduct with respect to our residents, staff and visitors whenever working in or outside of the property.
- Where possible always complete repairs in one visit, where this is not possible or other works are noticed for completion discuss this with the Place Maintenance Manager and raise follow up works.
- Work as a team with all the P&E Team, including in particular liaising with property coordinators, managers and on site teams
- To carry out and lead identified works necessary to void properties in order to return them to the lettable standard in line with One YMCA’s procedures and timescales to a high standard
- Support and cover the Voids Lead manager where necessary and agreed as a team leader and expert in ensuring service delivery.
- Maintain and repair our housing and commercial repairs Eg: Fixtures and fittings, installation of soft furnishings.
- Be experienced in the following areas: Basic Electrical Skills, Painting, Kitchen/Bathroom refurbishment, Basic carpentry, flooring installation (Karndean or other) in order to support the wider team.
- Ensure that vehicles are maintained to a high level of cleanliness and any damage/ disrepair is immediately reported to a supervisor or manager.
Requirements:
- Experience as a senior multi-trade in a housing and commercial arena would be advantageous
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working as the expert and ‘go to person’ as a senior multi-trade technician or similar
- This role requires extensive maintenance, painting and repairs knowledge
- The post holder will have experience in mentoring and leadership within a multi-trade/ site management arena and be adaptable to service requirements.
The post-holder will form an essential part of one YCMA’s customer focused service delivery and, as such, will always maintain the highest standards in terms of workmanship via ad hoc audits reviews. You will demonstrate high quality workmanship and will have a ‘saying what I do and doing what I say’ attitude. Working Pattern: Monday – FridayOne YMCA and its subsidiaries, the Early Childhood Partnership (ECP) and Signpost are on an exciting journey to double our impact by 2025. - Family support through a network of children’s and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
- Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Hertfordshire
- Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
- Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
