Reach out directly to apply to Grace Williams Williams at grawilliamsCall: 317 567 6610Job DescriptionThe Lab Technician performs laboratory tests to determine the chemical and/or physical characteristics of in-process materials and decides on the next steps for alloying finished products. This role supports production departments by compiling data for trend analysis and driving continuous improvement.Responsibilities

• Operate laboratory equipment and instruments such as Arc-Spark emission Spectrometer, Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer, LECO, X-ray Fluorescence Analyzer, pH meter, analytical balance, and other equipment.
• Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas, using proper techniques for measuring volumes and weights of solids and liquids.
• Analyze the chemical composition of in-process materials and issue instructions for completing the alloying process.
• Assist in tracking the refinery production schedule.
• Record results of finished product testing into the corporate SAP computer system.
• Test environmental samples to help determine the disposition of wastes/effluents.
• Compile data for trend analysis to support all departments.
• Comply with all environmental, health, safety, quality systems, and housekeeping programs.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned or authorized by laboratory management.

Essential Skills

• Intermediate computer skills.
• A 4-year degree in chemistry or a related science is preferred, or related applicable experience.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Safety and environmental training applicable to the job.
• Job instructional training.
• Continuous improvement and data analysis training.
• ISO 9001, ISO, OHSAS training.
