PVC partners with global Investment Groups across a portfolio of c. 80 assets and works out of offices in Toronto, London, Hong Kong, San Francisco, New York and São Paulo. PVC consists of c. 45 experienced professionals with investment, consulting and corporate backgrounds, operating across the portfolio and throughout asset lifecycles.Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Portfolio Value Creation, you will be responsible for working with portfolio companies to identify and implement transformative, value creation opportunities. Working with other members of the Portfolio Value Creation team you will support the management teams, senior stakeholders, and deal teams, on world-class asset management projects and will identify, scope, and ensure implementation of value creation opportunities across the entire asset life cycle.You will:
- Assist identification of strategic value creation opportunities across CPP Investments’ portfolio;
- Support implementation of value creation opportunities, including substantial module ownership;
- Support implementation of value creation projects, including leadership of specific modules of work;
- Assist deal teams in the diligence of select new deal opportunities;
- Support transition of new assets into CPP Investments’ portfolio (Day 1 transition, 100 day planning, governance setup, value creation plan development, etc.);
- Support monitoring of selected CPP Investments’ direct investment assets;
- Interact with Senior Stakeholders, both internal and external, where appropriate;
- Work internationally, including some travel to other offices.
QualificationsAs the ideal candidate, you are recognized for your highly structured and analytical thinking. You have built a track record of strong business judgement and ability to apply this across a wide set of problem-solving situations. As a highly effective communicator you will build a relationship of trust with key internal partners and in turn, relevant external management team members. You are a strong collaborator and are viewed as an impactful team member. You also have an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for growing businesses.You will bring:
- Relevant Private Equity asset management experience; or top-tier consulting or industry experience working in Strategy, Corporate Development or Operational Transformation. Candidates will be assessed and appropriately positioned within their respective band to reflect their experience and abilities.
- Experience working in deal environments including supporting acquisitions, diligence and/or asset management activities would be an asset
- Strong analytical skills and business judgement; solid financial literacy
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Experience in working in complex stakeholder environments
- Conduct consistent with our Guiding Principles of Integrity, Partnership and High Performance
- Strong collaborator and team player who enjoys a high-performance culture
- Willingness to travel
- Master’s degree or equivalent degree preferred
- Proficiency in other major European languages would be an asset
- Exposure to digital transformation (i.e., strategy and/or implementation of digital technology to fundamentally change how a business operates and creates value) considered a plus
