Data Lead – D2C Luxury TravelSalary up to £100kLondon – HybridWe are working in exclusive partnership with a global travel business that sells luxury safari tours and adventures. A well known company that has historically sold packages through travel agents and OTAs, are now looking to build out a newly formed D2C function. With the additional backing from a large US private equity business, they have the investment and infrastructure to scale rapidly.The OpportunityHaving recently appointed a new CMO to own the area and chase the opportunity, they are now looking to build out the ideal organisational structure and team. This is a unique opportunity, positioned as a start-up within an established and well-funded business. All the fun, and upside growth potential to build something, but limited risk involved.ResponsibilitiesThe Data Lead is a high profile and priority hire for the business. As one of the initial hires in the team, there is a massive opportunity to get in on ground zero and help the define the long term strategy and contribute to the overall success. We are looking for a swiss-army knife who can build out the reporting stack – fetch the data, build the data sets and spreadsheets, as well as analysis, provide insights and influence strategic decision.

  • Build Reporting Systems: Design dashboards for all digital channels to deliver actionable insights.
  • Ensure Data Accuracy: Work with teams to maintain consistent, accurate data collection and resolve discrepancies.
  • Set KPIs: Collaborate with leaders to define KPIs that support business goals and provide impactful data.
  • Analye & Optimize: Conduct performance analyses and recommend data-driven improvements.
  • Automate Reporting: Streamline reporting processes with tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Google Data Studio.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Align with marketing, sales, and finance to meet evolving reporting needs.
  • Deliver Ad-Hoc Insights: Provide on-demand analysis of performance trends and competitive insights.

Your Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Data Science, Statistics, Marketing Analytics, or related field.
  • Experience: 6+ years in digital marketing/eCommerce data analysis, building analytics from scratch.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, or Looker; strong SQL and Excel skills; Python/R is a plus.
  • Digital Marketing Knowledge: Expertise in Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and CRM systems.
  • Problem Solving & Communication: Proactive problem-solving approach and effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ensures data accuracy and completeness across reports.
