About the role

The Senior Environment and Configuration Engineer provides technical leadership and consultation on the tools, policies and practices needed to deploy complex environments into cloud and on-premises environments. The role combines configuration management activities with observability and reliability outcomes necessary to enable Agile product development. This role is also hands on with managing cyber security risks including test data management and environment segregation. 

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for: 

  • Work within the DevSecOps team to drive the adoption of best practices and contribute to coaching teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and compliant services and a positive customer experience.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to ensure the technological endeavours are aligned with the business endeavours.
  • Provide technical expertise to product development and solution design teams, and work across product teams as part of the discovery process to foster a culture of collaboration and with a focus on service delivery and risk management.
  • Implement reusable and resilient infrastructure-as-code tools and policies that enable application maturity uplift.
  • Assist project and delivery teams in understanding their environment needs and guide them on optimal setup and usage.
  • Build, fine-tune, and manage the software development lifecycle framework, applying best practice methodologies and industry-recognised standards to improve platform product quality, security and reuse and reduce operational risk.

Our ideal candidate will have strong relationship, stakeholder management and organisational skills, knowledge and understanding of managing cyber security risks within a cloud environment, and a contemporary knowledge of industry best practice standards.
