  • Ensures civilian employees receive resource and referral support to the appropriate helping agency for issues related to overall wellness (i.e. mental, physical, spiritual, and social).
  • Ensures Community Action Team (CAT) initiatives are promoted and delivered within assigned unit/units by promoting a fit, resilient and ready force through education and training opportunities, campaigns, and programs.
  • Continuous process improvement champion by working closely with installation CSC on innovative solutions to optimize the health and welfare of the unit.

  • Telework Information: Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) prescribed “Unscheduled Telework
  • Obtain and maintain Secret Security clearance
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty, on-call, or recall hours.
  • Strong communication skills with high emotional intelligence to work with entire workforce on the four pillars of resiliency: mental, physical, social, and spiritual (prior Military First Shirt duties would be beneficial but not required).
  • Capacity to anticipate needs, proactively solve problems, and adjust to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills, ability to correspond with senior leaders from all echelons of the Air Force and general public both verbally and in writing, and adept at working with external offices.

QualificationsFor additional information on direct hire opportunities with the Air Force please click .In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions locatedSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower pay band NH-01, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes referral support to the appropriate helping agency for issues related to overall wellness (i.e. mental, physical, spiritual, and social),preparing and presenting large and small group trainings with the ability to adapt materials based on a variety of audiencesOREDUCATION: Successful completion of a master’s or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or, L.L.B. or J.D., if related from an accredited college or university.ORCOMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant’s total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant’s education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
1. Knowledge of available community resources on and off the installation (i.e. Airman & Family Readiness Center, Employee Assistance Program, Civilian Health Promotion Services, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response, etc.)
2. Knowledge of a wide range of civilian personnel concepts, practices, regulations, precedents, and procedures.
3. Skill in preparing and presenting large and small group trainings with the ability to adapt materials based on a variety of audiences.
4. Ability to communicate both orally and it writing.
5. Ability to develop and present reports for senior leadership.
6. Ability to interface with a wide range of personnel, including senior leadership, with tact, courtesy, diplomacy and professionalism.
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with leadership, organizations, and individuals to identify, establish, modify and provide referral assistance.
8. Ability to compile and analyze trends and survey data to provide recommended courses of action.Additional informationDirect Hire Authority: NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions. The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members
