Join us and watch your ideas shape the future of mobility.Global Marketing Strategy – let’s introduce ourselvesAs Media & Audience Strategy Lead, you will report to the Global Head of Marketing Strategy. The Marketing Strategy Team’s goal is to support the organization with strategic guidance and best practice in marketing to maximize short-term sales and long-term brand equity by making data driven decisions and holding marketing investments accountable for real business results.
The team contains of a range of specialists, covering Brand insights, Creative insights, Strategic Planning, Investment strategy and Marketing strategy.Media & Audience Strategy Lead – this is what you’ll do
With strong experience in media strategy & planning you will act as a subject matter expert on all media strategy matters and continuously challenge and inspire both the internal team and media agency partners to deliver on company objectives in the most effective way. You will lead the creation and championing of the global media strategy for Volvo Cars to direct media planning efforts across global agency partners and marketing teams. You will utilize your media expertise to support Campaign development teams and local market teams with clear campaign activation playbooks that will enable markets to utilize proven best practices and lessons learned for new campaigns. You will also collaborate with global agency partners to develop an actionable audience framework that enables Volvo to effectively reach the intended consumer in the right channels at the right time to drive long-term brand saliency and short-term sales.Here’s a bit of what you will be doing in more detail:
- Act as Subject Matter Expert on all media strategy matters in the development of strategic briefs and campaign activation kits.
- Partner with global media agency leads to establish global alignment and consistency in the media activation approach across all markets.
- Support Media activation team with clear definitions of KPIs to meet strategic media goals.
- Develop standardized media playbooks to support different types of campaigns such as brand building vs sales promotion campaigns.
- Champion audience-first thinking within strategy and media teams.
- Collaborate with Consumer insights and Market intelligence teams on extracting insights to guide higher quality audience targeting and media effectiveness.
- Collaborate with AdTech teams to align innovation agenda with media strategy.
- Provide the marketing organization with understanding of differences and changes in media consumption behavior across markets, audiences and categories to ensure the brand is meeting consumers in the most relevant channels.
- Organize workshops and learning sessions to develop deeper understanding of emerging trends, tools and methods to further improve media effectiveness.

You are communicative, open-minded and have a pro-active attitude. You have an ability to challenge the organization in an inspiring way and foster constructive discussion. You bring a high degree of business acumen, with understanding of globally operating business models and a strong interest in the automotive industry and overall consumer trends.Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Marketing, Communications or related field.
- 3 or more years of experience in leading media strategy for a brand or agency.
- Understanding and experience of China media landscape preferred.
- Experience from project managing within media agencies
- Understanding of audience building and utilization in media planning.
- Experienced in driving output from media agencies, operationally and strategically
- Excellent project management skills, ability to manage complex projects across a varied set of stakeholders
- Experience with operating in complex and global organizations
- Excellent communication & reporting skills
- Experience of working close to Management
