OverviewWaters are hiring for a Principal Buyer, Operational Purchasing, to join the established and engaged team at Wilmslow!Within this role you will manage the execution of the transactional procurement function, drive goals for buying channel utilisation, and implement the procure to pay process. - Provides subject matter expertise alongside Category Management leaders to maximize buying channels in terms of quality, cost and delivery.
- Leads business collaborators through low dollar sourcing events, taking into consideration business needs, costing and higher savings.
- Identifies and drives improvement opportunities and ensures the procurement strategy is being met throughout Waters’ global environment.
- Catalogue management & enablement within the SAP Ariba procurement system.
- Responsible for ensuring purchase orders are effectively enabled for purchasing and invoicing.
- Examines transactions for discrepancies and noncompliance issues to support monthly reporting from self-designed and generated procurement reports.
- Analyses procurement reporting to develop improvements for buying channels and implements solutions which improve user experience and reduce costs.
- Monitors and leads procurement transactions in coordination with business collaborators, Finance and sourcing functions.
- Guides business stakeholders, Finance, and suppliers through the procurement of goods and services.
- Responsible for providing recommendations regarding procurement controls to corporate finance and ensure the accurate and compliant use.
- Partners with the Source to Pay Process Owner to develop, monitor, and improve functions reporting and operating capabilities within Water’s procurement systems.
- Leads end-to-end purchase requisition / purchase order activities in an automated/ semi-automated work environment including exception handling of POs not processed automatically and communication with external and internal stakeholders.
QualificationsExperience:
- Extensive experience within procurement
- Proven experience of using procurement tools – SAP Ariba would be beneficial but not crucial
Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose positive business solutions.
