As the GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Compliance, Manager, you will be an overall subject matter expert for compliance with the GHG Protocol, ensuring successful attestation by working closely with various teams to improve data, minimize risk, and enhance data collection and GHG calculation processes.A Day in the Life

  • Monitor global trends in GHG tabulation practices to ensure continuous improvement of the company’s performance and best practices are followed.
  • Monitor and maintain expertise in the evolving global regulatory Sustainability reporting landscape; stays apprised of voluntary Sustainability reporting developments so as to ensure consistency in what Element reports externally.
  • Evaluate and determine the applicability of new reporting regulations globally (based on deterministic thresholds (e.g. materiality, corporate size, etc.).
  • Drive the development of the company’s GHG reporting strategies, ensuring they are integrated with financial reporting.
  • Contribute towards enhancing our capabilities in terms of people, processes, internal controls and systems (including the evaluation of carbon accounting software) to meet all mandatory GHG reporting requirements.
  • Lead and execute existing data quality improvement roadmap; assist teams in building and/or optimizing data and process flows, ultimately implementing controls across the end-to-end business processes from data sources through disclosures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect precise GHG data, develop project plans for GHG reporting readiness, identify gaps, and maintain communication with Director of Operational Controls and stakeholders.
  • Design, maintain, and enforce robust internal controls around GHG data collection and tabulation processes to guarantee accuracy and reliability.
  • Develops and operationalizes standardized policies and processes with regard to GHG reporting (e.g., disclosure controls and procedures, estimation approaches).
  • Be responsible for the compilation, calculation, and disclosure of GHG for both voluntary and mandatory reporting, aligning with frameworks such as CSRD, ISSB, TCFD, SASB, CDP, etc. while ensuring compliance, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Coordinates limited and reasonable assurance over GHG reporting and disclosures, with external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field of study
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in areas such as Sustainability reporting, GHG tabulation and reporting, accounting & financial reporting, internal controls design/evaluation, risk management or data management.
  • Experience with, and strong knowledge of, Sustainability reporting standards and frameworks such as IFRS, CSSB, GHG protocol, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CSRD, etc.
  • Strong understanding of GHG and Sustainability issues and willingness to keep up to date with the latest ESG guidelines and developments.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple projects and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking with high attention to detail and ownership of business outcomes.
  • Quick and scrappy learner who adapts well to a fast-moving environment and gets things done, combines creativity, problem- solving skills, and a can-do attitude to overcome any obstacle
  • Previous experience within the fleet management industry is highly desirable given its relevance to understanding industry-specific impacts on sustainability.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, CIA, Certified Sustainability Practitioner (CSP), Greenhouse Gas Management Institute diploma, or equivalent are a plus
  • PowerBI, Alteryx, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint skill preferred

The hiring base salary range for this position is $92,100 – $126,610 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data.What’s in it for You
