A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Practice Development Team at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton as the Clinical Educator. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Paediatric Nurse who is keen to share their paediatric nursing expertise.The post holder will be part of a dynamic and innovative Paediatric Practice Development team. They will responsible for facilitating nursing and multi-professional staff development within the Children’s Hospital. They will work closely with members of the team supporting them to provide excellent care in the clinical areas. As part of the Practice Development Team, they will be involved in delivering high quality internal training programmes.The post holder will be an expert in the assessment, planning and implementation of all areas of paediatric care. They will work as part of the Practice Development team to ensure competence of all staff to maintain excellent standard of care is delivered in the department.The post holder will be required to work predominately on weekdays and mainly based in the clinical environment. You will be supported by the Paediatric Practice Development Lead to further develop your skills and knowledge in clinical education.We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.Main duties of the jobTeaching and supporting nursing staff to develop their skills in clinical area, to ensure that they meet their competencies to deliver a high standard of care for the sick children and young people within the Children’s Hospital. - Educated to degree level
- Experience of clinical teaching and/or supporting learners in practice
- Significant experience working in Paediatrics
- Practice Supervisor / Practice Assessor / Mentorship Module or equivalent
- Demonstrates specialist paediatric expertise underpinned by theory
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- APLS provider
Desirable
- PG Cert in education
- APLS instructor
