The Dynamic Instrumentation / Live Debugging team is building an exciting, brand new product that helps developers quickly troubleshoot and diagnose bugs and performance issues in complex distributed systems – bringing code-level observability into the hands of every developer. We’re investing heavily in experiences that allow developers to dynamically instrument their applications and perform live debugging, in production, with the smallest possible performance overhead and rock-solid reliability. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.What you’ll do:Manage the Dynamic Code Instrumentation team (8 runtime engineers), developing their skills and helping advance their careers.Write a significant amount of code for new and existing instrumentationsWork with our security teams to ensure we are delivering a sensitive product with top-notch security.Collaborate with our AI Code Gen team and IDE Integration team to create meaningful new customer experiencesEnsure the team consistently ships high quality code and architecture.Help make sure our instrumentations behave consistently across the different programming languages we support, and are performant and reliableRun a lightweight agile process to pace and track what we work on and deliver high quality work.Datadog values people from all walks of life. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.Who You Are:You are an excellent leader with strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead high-performing teamsYou have a keen interest in working with low-level runtime internals and/or compilers.You have significant knowledge of the inner working of at least one runtime environment (JVM, Python, .NET CLR, Javascript / v8, Ruby, or Golang / ebpf)You’ve written high-performance, concurrent applications and squeezed every bit of performance from your system.
