Working closely with AgProve field scale trial program, Agronomy, and Ag Innovation, this position will bring a strong level of agronomic positioning of SGS Canada’s Specialty Crop Nutrition Product Portfolio.Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with all SGS locations to inform, forecast, and increase sales of Specialty CN products (Bulk and Packaged)
  • Be the point of contact for locations to order packaged CN products and responsible for supplier PO’s
  • Working in connection with the Procurement Lead to ensure accurate positioning of specialty product throughout the SGS Canada Business Unit
  • Travel to SGS locations to provide updated information on focus products, attend local grower event’s, work with marketing to provide timely product campaigns
  • Generate Sales for CN Specialty Products through internal (AgProve) and external
  • resources, responsible for working with locations to ensure accurate forecasting
  • Work with CN Manager and Agronomy team to evaluate new and existing CN products and determine strategic sourcing options for SGS Canada
  • Be the primary point of contact for location pricing inquiries, product orders, & search internal inventory options prior to ordering new product
  • Provide forecast and sales information, market intel and updates to all SGS leaders and staff

Key Roles & Competencies

  • Agronomic knowledge of Specialty Crop Nutrition products and how they are positioned for customer success in Western Canadian Agriculture
  • Good understanding of Western Canadian specialty product market and supply chain
  • Strong sales skills (grower or retail), with a proven track record of achieving business growth targets
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers to leverage SGS Canada’s scale and position them for profitable growth
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups (Agronomy/AgProve, AgInnovation, Sales & Operations) to extract data to develop resources, communicate business updates, and assist with product trainings
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to speak in front of internal staff and external customers
  • Able to lead the SGS Canada Packaged CN forecasting process’ and executing on a strategic sourcing plan
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Able to work within SGS Canada reporting tools to monitor and track monthly business milestones as well as year over year comparisons

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Agriculture is preferred
  • 8+ years experience in Crop Nutrition industry or Ag Retail
  • Up to 25% overnight travel. Additional daytime travel within trade area
