The Analyst works with large ambiguous concepts and datasets and collaborates with team members to build deliverables on a day-to-day basis. The role is also responsible for analysing and interpreting internal data while incorporating external research. The Analyst researches and develops an understanding of key industry events; identifies trends and relationships within the data; creates, edits and participates in client presentations; collaborates with team members and business subject matter experts on research questions / interviews and ad hoc projects; supports efforts in the development of new models, reports, processes or system approaches.Job DescriptionWhat NAV CANADA offers you:

Job DescriptionKey Accountabilities:

  • Identify, acquire and validate data from internal and external data sources, perform statistical and data analysis, create reports and visualizations.
  • Apply data in measuring against KPI performance and assess for actionable opportunities and insights.
  • Conduct research projects and studies to provide both qualitative and quantitative analysis on complex issues impacting resourcing and capacity of the workforce within the context of the aviation industry.
  • Support the continued implementation of planning frameworks and corresponding initiative assessments by overseeing and conducting research, interviews, tool/process building and fact-based quantitative analysis.
  • Prepare presentations and develop reporting mechanisms to communicate identified trends and patterns to stakeholders.
  • Analyze the current technology processes and recommend process or technology improvements to improve quality, increase efficiency, or improve client service.
  • Interpret, validate and report on current, historical and forecast data in support of Workforce Planning and Resourcing and Capacity activities through the application of various analytical and statistical techniques across the company.
  • Provide advice, statistics and guidance to management with respect to resourcing and capacity planning.
  • Support identification of key industry dynamics that may impact the business over the planning horizon and provide updates to the quarterly financial forecast.
  • Ensure the timely production, maintenance and reporting of performance metrics data providing support to the organization.
  • Support sophisticated analysis, drawing on a wide variety of data sources and advanced analytical methods, presented in a fashion that they can be communicated to a wide variety of audiences with minimal guidance or supervision.

Job RequirementsEducation:University/ Bachelor’s degree specialized in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or Analytics, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Experience:

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in applying primary research and/or statistical/analytical tools to solve research/practical problems;
  • Experience conducting or participating in quantitative and qualitative research and studies, analyzing and synthesizing results and developing various means of communicating the process and meanings of outcomes (summary reports, presentations, briefings);
  • Experience organizing statistical and research-based information for presentation in the form of reports and recommending improved methods of work, enhancing the quality and efficiency of reporting;
  • Experience working with a range of data and analytical concepts and methodologies, including:
  • Primary research – surveys, interviews, observations;
  • Financial modelling;
  • Forecasting / econometrics.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the techniques and practices of data collection, manipulation and validation, the organization of information for reporting purposes.
  • Knowledge of desktop software and modeling tools and the ability to interpret and evaluate data for consistency.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint and other reporting and presentation software.
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis tools and software.
  • Knowledge of developing methods to ensure analysis models effectively and sufficiently describe the domain.
  • Knowledge of NAV CANADA’s organization, structure and information and key data sources.
