The safety and well-being of our Customers and Colleagues is paramount and we need a new Group Director of Compliance to lead our approach to Health, Safety, Safeguarding and Compliance right across the broad spectrum of activities in our growing organisation.As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team you will drive a strong safety culture and maintain effective frameworks for all aspects of safety and compliance across the organisation. You will provide the Group Board and management with assurance through this comprehensive framework, by setting standards, testing the effectiveness of processes and controls, and ensuring that best practice is deployed consistently. Leading an expert team of safety and compliance professionals you will challenge every part of the organisation to improve the rigour applied to achieving compliance targets. You will drive improvements in performance and Customer outcomes so that we meet all legal and regulatory requirements as we pursue our ‘Because Community Matters’ strategy.You will be a thought leader and internal expert, helping us to respond to our changing external environment and working collaboratively as a trusted advisor across our diverse range of housing products and services. You will need to be proactive and anticipate risks that could impact the health, safety or wellbeing of our Customers or Colleagues, identifying early warning signs and driving solutions to mitigate risks where necessary.For more information please download the job profile available on our website.More about you

  • CMIOSH/RICS qualified or equivalent
  • Possess a deep expertise in the development of comprehensive assurance frameworks in a relevant sector focusing on safety and compliance in the context of both property and people.
  • Strategic thinker who will take a proactive approach to ensuring we maintain the highest levels of safety and compliance practice.
  • Track record in raising standards and nurturing a safety culture within a complex business and have led the delivery of internal health and safety, advisory and support services.
  • Experienced in dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders including boards, regulators and other agencies.
