Job Title: Background Check Specialist
Location: London/Maidenhead, UK
Duration: 12 Months Contract initiallyThe Challenge:

  • The Background Check Specialist is an integral part of our broader shared services team within the Employee Resource Center (ERC).
  • This position will have key ownership of the Background Check process across Europe, Middle East, and Africa region (EMEA) – balancing program integrity and security with making sure our candidates receive the best experience possible.
  • As background check is one of the first processes our soon-to-be employees have with Client, it is high impact and requires someone with swift and consistent follow-through.
  • Integrity, assertiveness, and confidentiality are crucial to success.
  • This person will make sure that all background checks across EMEA are followed through to completion.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as a Client’s ambassador to candidates and employees by delivering an exceptional experience in their pre-hire, on-boarding, and through their tenure with Client.
  • Conduct Background Checks for pre-hire and acquired employees.
  • Partner with our Talent organization and our third-party vendor to initiate, monitor, and lead background checks to ensure progression to completion.
  • Drive and coordinate critical issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with the vendor to remediate any issues.
  • Train cross-functional teams and partners on the process.
  • Triage case management system and the generic inbox to ensure timely responses to requests.
  • Support Talent Operations and projects as needed.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Talent or Recruiting and knowledge of the hiring and on-boarding process.
  • Experience performing Background checks.
  • Professional, assertive and timely follow-through skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated maturity and sound judgment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer Service orientation.
  • Self-starter, resourceful and ability to independently drive to results.
  • Proficiency with background check systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
