A Day in the Life…
The Manager, Student Talent Coaching & Engagement is responsible for developing and carrying out a co-op student success strategy in collaboration with CCEE leadership team, Faculties and on campus units. The role will ensure efficient and effective teamwork and consistency of process and services delivery in all areas of student touch points that would lead to greater retention of students in all programs, increased students’ satisfaction of their experience and office service. The Manager, Student Talent Coaching & Engagement leads the Student Talent Coach and Outreach Coordinator team to achieve co-op and work experience employment targets and goals by ensuring that participating students are prepared for rigorous job search competition, workplace expectations and are actively motivated and engaged in their co-op and work experience job search process.
As the Manager, Student Talent Coaching & Engagement, you will:
- Lead and manage Talent Coach and Engagement team and ensure the delivery of results in support of CCEE and Brock’s Strategic priorities;
- Develop and implement consistent processes and service level standards on all aspects of student touch points through their job search and on job performance journey;
- Collaborate with CCEE leadership team to develop, review, and enhance delivery of innovative talent coaching and engagement programming and support using labor market information;
- Work closely with the other Managers in Co-op to ensure team members share update on talent pipeline and enable knowledge transfer in current labor market trends and students’ performance during job search cycle and during a work term;
- Develop and oversee job search programming while liaising with the Centre of Excellence in Career & Experiential Education team;
- Collaborate with Faculty and Departments to keep co-op students engaged through co-op journey;
- Partner with campus units to support co-op students and promote the co-op brand;
- Maintain the information database for qualitative and quantitative report on the progress of employer development and engagement;
- Provide feedback and recommendations on improvements of existing technical tools for data management and process to enhance our efficiency;
- Participate, represent, and support work-related activities that require attendance outside of normal working hours.
What you need to Succeed…
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, or Education;
- A minimum of 5-6 years of relevant experience with co-op/internship programs, sales and marketing, human resources, and/or recruiting, preferably in an educational setting, including sales, account development, and relationship management;
- A minimum of 3-5 years of management and/or supervisory experience;
- A valid G class driver’s license and an acceptable driver’s abstract;
- Knowledge of all Brock co-op programs, recruitment, human resources, talent acquisition, on campus recruitment, the hiring cycle, and the sales cycle;
- Knowledge of industry trends and labour market demand for all co-op programs;
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to change and work with ambiguity;
- Solid computer competency including Microsoft Office, spreadsheet, database, web applications, social media, and internet search engines;
- Advanced communications skills (verbal, written and interpersonal), including professional public speaking, and a keen ability to sell/promote;
- Ability to work with diverse groups, advising, coaching, and strategizing career planning objectives;
- Creativity, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills;
- Proven ability to organize and handle a variety of projects, deadlines, and schedules simultaneously and independently;
- Innovative, flexible, and adaptable with a commitment to teamwork and integrity.
Preferred or Asset Skills…
- Completion of Career Development Practitioner (CDP) Certificate is preferred.
Salary and Benefit Information
- Job Grade (N), Salary Scale ($75,460-$129,360)*;
- Target Hiring Range: $75,460-$85,000;
- This position includes full comprehensive benefits including tuition waiver.
- The salary range indicated is representative of all positions evaluated at this level. Actual salary is determined by assessing related skills, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness, subject to available budget.
