The Data Scientist intern, will be reporting to the Data Science Manager. This is a full-time internship opportunity that is based at our office in Richmond, British Columbia and is up to 8 months in length, starting in early January, 2025.As a Data Scientist Intern, you will have to combine the skills of a developer and a detective, drawing on a wide palette of mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and programming techniques to unravel mysteries too subtle for the naked eye. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at Richmond location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Currently enrolled as a full-time student with an accredited university or college with studies in Computer Science or similar technical disciplineMust be at least a 2nd year or higher student with studies in a relevant programExperience working with PythonWilling and able to work 40 hours per week during the internshipMust be legally able to work in CanadaIndividual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goodsMust be eligible to handle US export-controlled dataPreferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):Previous internship experienceWorking towards a Master’s degreeDomain knowledge in the aviation & aerospace industryProject management knowledge (PMBOK, Agile, Kanban)Experience with the following technologies/methodologies:Time Series ForecastingComputer VisionReinforcement Learning*Graduates are ineligible unless continuing in post graduate studies.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
