Duties of the Advanced Practitioner:

  • Case Management: Manage a complex caseload of child protection cases, conducting assessments, developing care plans, and implementing interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, and professionals to coordinate effective support and interventions for children and families.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential safeguarding concerns and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
  • Court Proceedings: Prepare comprehensive reports for court proceedings and represent the organisation in legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Supervision and Support: Provide supervision and support to less experienced team members, offering guidance and expertise to enhance practice standards.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Stay updated with relevant legislation, policies, and best practice guidelines, participating in training and development opportunities to enhance professional skills and knowledge.

Requirements of the Advanced Practitioner:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Proven statutory UK experience in Children social work, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about best practices in social work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating resilience and adaptability
